PDFCreator is a powerful utility that does what its name says: it creates PDF files. It does that by installing itself as a virtual printer on your system and enabling you to convert any printable files to a PDF document by using the “Print” function from the application that you use to open those files.

Besides PDF documents, PDFCreator can also “print” to three image file formats: JPG, TIFF, and PNG. It also allows creating conversion profiles that let you quickly “print” to PDF files of different compression and quality levels.

The best thing about this powerful application is the fact that it offers a lot of handy additional features, options, and functions. For example, you can add watermarks and stamps to the created files, password protect and encrypt them using any of the 3 offered encryption levels, merge them together to one single output PDF file, add metadata to them, and so on. Furthermore, you can enable the application to automatically perform additional actions once the conversion is done. For example, you can automatically open the created PDF, add it as an attachment to an e-mail, or e-mail it right away.

Despite being powerful and feature-rich, PDFCreator is also very easy-to-use. It offers a simple interface that allows you to tweak the available settings with ease.

To sum it all up, PDFCreator is a powerful virtual PDF printer that leaves no room for complaint. As all other good things in life, PDFCreator is also free (open-source).
